Jean Lounsbury meets Harold Bahan:
As a young woman, Jean was a "flapper" and lived a very wild lifestyle. Jean was first married briefly to some "hotshot" who she continually fought with, including on their wedding day. The marriage was annulled and Jean set her sights on marrying "mister proper big shot" Harold Bahan. Harold was quite handsome and was considered a real catch. He was from an upper crust Catholic family, born in Pennsylvania, and he looked upon the Lounsbury family with some disdain, although he was always kind to them. Harold's mother, Agnes, always considered the Bahans to be a class above the Lounsburys. Jean always felt that she "lived up" to the Bahan standards and considered herself lucky to have them accept her.

Elmore Lounsbury family moved to California on 11/25/35; first to Redwood City (where Rose Sterling Strong lived), then to the Aromas and Watsonville area (where the Miller family had gathered), then to San Jose, where they lived at 236 So. 21st Street. Later, after 1940 and before WW II, they purchased a home on South Fulton Street in Fresno, CA.
