MRS. EVA AGNES STAFFORD
Mrs. Matt Stafford Died Sunday
Mrs. Ena Agnes Stafford, wife of Matt Stafford passed away at her home east of Sedan Sunday, October 16th, at the age of 67 years. She had been in failing health for several months.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Sedan Tuesday October 18 at 2:30 p. m., conducted by the Rev. Edwin G. Michael. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery. Baird-Westlake funeral home were in charge.
Eva Agnes Hanes was born May 15, 1865, at Riverton, Iowa. She moved to Kansas when she was yet a small child. In 1884 she was married to Matt Stafford who survives her. To this union 9 children were born. Two died in infancy. The seven surviving children are Lela Mable Lucas of Tulsa, Okla.; Opal Maude Mann of St. Joseph, Missouri; John Wm. Stafford of Sedan: Bert Ray Stafford of Sedan; Lyda Marie Thrasher of Glendale, Arizona; Letha Fern Hurt of Sedan, and Omer Earl Stafford of Sedan. The deceased also leaves to mourn her passing nineteen grandchildren and five great grand children, together with many other relatives and friend.
About 25 years ago the deceased became a member of the Christian church at Sedan, but most of the time since then has lived a considerable distance away from Sedan.
